Mantle asks you to look closely at who is telling you the news. It is only fair that you can see exactly what Mantle knows about you.

The short version
- You can read everything on Mantle without an account.
- What you read is recorded on your own device. It reaches your account only if you turn on My Mix sync.
- Mantle has no advertising and no tracking. It does not sell or share information about readers.
- If you support Mantle, Stripe takes the payment. Mantle receives your name, email address and billing details, never your full card number.
- If you create an account, Mantle keeps your email address. You can delete the account yourself, at once.
Who publishes Mantle
Mantle News is published by Amo Per La Vita LLC. In this policy, "Mantle" means Mantle News and the company that publishes it. To reach the company about anything on this page, use the contact form.
Reading Mantle
Mantle does not ask who you are and does not build a profile of you.
Your reading history stays on your device, unless you choose otherwise. My Mix shows which parts of the spectrum you read. It is worked out on your phone or in your browser, from a list kept in that device's own storage. The list is not sent to Mantle unless you have an account and turn on My Mix sync, described under Accounts. You can delete it at any time in My Mix, and it goes when you clear your browser's data or remove the app.
Settings stay on your device too. Your choice of light or dark appearance is kept the same way.
Mantle does not use cookies for advertising or tracking, and it loads no advertising or analytics code from other companies.
Like every website, Mantle is delivered by computers that keep technical logs. When your device asks for a page, the companies that host Mantle see its internet address and the type of browser or phone, and keep that in security and error logs for a limited time. Mantle does not use those logs to follow what individual readers read.
Links to news outlets leave Mantle. When you open an article you are on the outlet's site, under the outlet's privacy policy.
Accounts
An account is optional. It exists so that you can keep things across your devices.
| What Mantle keeps | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in and to send the sign-in code |
| The date the account was made and last used | To keep the account secure |
| Your reading history, only if you turn on My Mix sync | To show the same My Mix on each device. The last 90 days only |
Mantle never sees a password, because there is none. You sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email address.
My Mix sync is off until you turn it on. With it on, what you open on Mantle (which story, which outlet's article, and when) is also kept in your account, so My Mix shows the same picture on each device where you sign in. Only the last 90 days are kept: older reading is deleted every night. It is used for nothing but My Mix and shared with no one. Turning sync off deletes the copy in your account at once. Each device keeps its own list either way.
Deleting your account. Open Your account on the website, or More then Account in the app, and choose Delete my account. The account and everything stored with it are removed at once. Backups, which exist to recover from failures, are overwritten within 30 days.
Writing to Mantle
When you use the contact form, Mantle receives what you enter: your name if you give one, your email address, the subject you chose, your message, and the page you wrote from if you came from a story or an outlet page. It is used to read and answer your message and to keep a record of corrections.
Supporting Mantle
Memberships and one-time payments are taken by Stripe, on Stripe's own pages. Stripe collects your card or other payment details and handles them under its own privacy policy, which includes using information about your device to prevent fraud.
| What Mantle receives from Stripe | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | For receipts, and for notices about your membership, such as a price change |
| Your billing country and postal code, or your full address if Stripe asks for it | For tax and accounting records |
| What you paid, when, and whether a membership is active | To run memberships and keep accounting records |
| Your card's brand, last four digits and expiry date | To show which card a membership uses |
Mantle never sees or stores your full card number. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after a membership ends. Paying is not linked to what you read: your reading history stays on your device.
If you have a Mantle account with the same email address, your membership is linked to it, so Your account can show your plan and when it renews. New members get a welcome email that restates the membership terms, sent through Resend.
To switch plans, change your card or cancel, use the membership page linked from Support Mantle.
