Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Amo Per La Vita LLC, which publishes Mantle ("Mantle", "we", "us"). By using mantle.news or the Mantle app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Mantle.

What Mantle is

Mantle groups news coverage of the same event from outlets across the political spectrum and shows how each side tells it. Its headlines, summaries and analysis are written by AI under published rules and read by Mantle's editors.

Mantle is information about how the news is covered. It is not legal, financial, medical or any other professional advice, and it does not tell you which side is right. Mantle works to be accurate, but AI and people both make mistakes, and the news changes as more is reported. Check the original reporting, which Mantle always links to, before relying on anything important.

Using Mantle

Reading Mantle is free and needs no account. You may create a free account to keep My Mix on more than one device; you must be at least 13 to do so. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address you sign in with, and for what happens under your account.

Please don't:

• break the law using Mantle, or use it to harass or harm anyone;
• disrupt Mantle or overload it, or try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours;
• present Mantle's analysis, ratings or summaries as your own work, or suggest Mantle endorses you;
• click on ads in order to earn Mantle money, or ask anyone else to.

We may suspend an account or block access that breaks these terms.

Memberships and payments

Memberships and one-time support are paid through Stripe. Their price, renewal and how to cancel are set out in the details on the support page, which form part of these terms. Paying supports Mantle; it does not buy any say over what Mantle covers.

Content and ownership

Mantle's own text, analysis, outlet ratings, design and software belong to Amo Per La Vita LLC. The data in the Mantle Media Report is free to reuse under the license stated on that page, and you may place Mantle's story card on your own site with the embed code a story offers.

Headlines, excerpts and images from news outlets belong to those outlets. Mantle shows short extracts to compare how a story is covered, credits the outlet and links to the original article. If you own something shown on Mantle and want it changed or removed, contact us.

Other sites and ads

Mantle links to other websites, including every article it compares, and may show automated ads to readers who aren't members. Mantle doesn't control other sites or advertisers and isn't responsible for their content, products or practices.

No warranty

Mantle is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that Mantle will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Amo Per La Vita LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Mantle. Our total liability for any claim about Mantle is limited to the greater of what you paid Mantle in the twelve months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes

We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Mantle after a change means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
